Mounjaro® Price Increases – What Are Your Options?
In This Issue: Mounjaro® price rises explained • Mental health coping tips • NHS access & Wegovy® option • Pharmacy stock • What’s in the GLPReset Hub • Access the members
From September, Mounjaro (tirzepatide) prices are expected to rise sharply. This is creating stress and uncertainty for many people using GLP-1 medicines.
Here’s what we know so far:
Eli Lilly® has confirmed that the price charged to pharmacies will increase.
Pharmacies pay different negotiated prices to Eli Lilly. Each one then decides its margin, so consumer prices may vary.
Larger pharmacy chains may keep costs lower, while smaller providers could increase prices more.
No final prices have yet been published.
That’s why so many in our community are looking at their options now. Here’s how to think it through:
💭 Your Mental Health Matters
The emotional strain of rising prices can feel just as heavy as the financial cost. Many members have told us they feel anxious, stressed, or panicked. Here are some simple strategies:
📴 Stop doom scrolling – endless price-checking makes anxiety worse. Stick to trusted sources like your GP, your pharmacy, or our Hub updates.
🧠 Cope with stress eating (CBT tip) – when cravings hit, pause and ask: “What am I really feeling?” Write it down or use grounding (5-4-3-2-1: five things you see, four you feel, three you hear, two you smell, one you taste).
🚶 Swap the habit loop – replace comfort eating with a short walk, breathing exercise, or messaging someone supportive.
💬 Stay connected – our WhatsApp groups and Zoom calls give you a safe space to talk things through.
✅ Practical Steps to Take
1. Understand Your Options

2. Check NHS Access First
Since June 2025, Mounjaro is available through GPs in England but only if you meet strict BMI + comorbidity rules. In Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, it remains specialist-only. If you may qualify, speak to your GP.
3. Reassess Dose & Strategy
Staying at a lower dose for longer can reduce costs while still helping maintain progress. If you’re still losing weight (even slowly), or maintaining, a lower dose may be enough.Combine with high-protein meals, daily movement, and food tracking to make the most of your results.
4. Compare to Wegovy
If private Mounjaro prices are unaffordable, ask your prescriber about Wegovy (semaglutide). It’s cheaper, widely available, and still delivers strong weight-loss outcomes.
🛑 Pharmacy Stock Updates
In the last week, most major online pharmacies have taken down their public stock checkers for Mounjaro and are no longer accepting new private patients. This means:
✅ If you already have an active prescription with a pharmacy, you may still be able to continue treatment — but check early about your renewal options.
⛔ New patients are unlikely to be accepted privately at this time.
What can you do?
Check your current provider – log in or call to confirm whether your repeat prescription is secure.
Plan ahead – avoid leaving renewals to the last minute, as supply chains remain unpredictable.
Stay safe – don’t be tempted by social media or “beauty clinic” sellers. Counterfeit pens are increasingly reported. Only a registered pharmacy can provide safe medication.
